Friends of San Lucas staff will guide you as you prepare for and experience a visit to Guatemala. You will work with FOSL staff on all pre-trip components, including information on purchasing airfare, recruiting group members, registering all visitors and creating your group’s itinerary. In-country Visitor Program staff will be with you from start to finish during your time in Guatemala, ensuring that your group has a safe, enjoyable and educational experience in San Lucas.
Groups and individuals are asked to contribute a minimum donation of $65/day per person, which covers meals, accommodation, transportation (including to and from the airport in Guatemala City), activity fees, and to cover other program and staffing costs. Groups will be invoiced 1 month prior to their arrival in San Lucas. Many visitors will choose to fundraise to cover a portion or all of their travel expenses. If interested in selling Juan Ana Coffee as a fundraiser, contact Terri Wong to learn more!
Meals & Accommodation
Visitors stay in one of the many hotels in the San Lucas area. We arrange reservations upon your arrival, and all placements are made according to availability. Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are eaten at the Mission. All visitors, volunteers and staff members share meals. WiFi is readily available.
We encourage you to fill out the inquiry form below to begin the application process.
Once the form is submitted, we will connect with you in the next 3-7 business days to confirm details.
Health and Safety Protocols
A main priority in the Friends of San Lucas Visitors Program is to protect the health and safety of local community members and visitors. Prior to traveling to Guatemala, we recommend that visitors set up an appointment at a travel clinic to discuss vaccinations and travel safety practices.
