Donation

Groups and individuals are asked to contribute a minimum donation of $60/day per person, which covers meals, accommodation, transportation (including to and from the airport in Guatemala City), activity fees, and to cover other program and staffing costs. Dates are secured after a down payment is submitted ($300 total for a group of 5+ or $60 per individual). Many visitors will choose to fundraise to cover a portion or all of their travel expenses. Meals & Accommodation

Visitors stay in one of the many hotels in the San Lucas area. We arrange reservations upon your arrival, and all placements are made according to availability. Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are eaten at the Mission. All visitors, volunteers and staff members share meals. WiFi is readily available.

Health and Safety Protocols

A main priority in the Friends of San Lucas Visitors Program is to protect the health and safety of local community members and visitors. Prior to traveling to Guatemala, we recommend that visitors set up an appointment at a travel clinic to discuss vaccinations and travel safety practices.
